Cynthia Wu, enrolled at the University of California, graduated with a double major in architectural design and computer science, after which she enrolled in a MBA program. In 1993, she produced the award-winning film “No More Applause” a screen adaptation of a novel by the popular Chinese writer Wang Shuo and directed by Xia Gang. The film won the best supporting actor and actress prizes at the 1994 Chinese Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Awards, also named one of 1993’s top ten movies by the Shanghai Paradise Cup Competition. “ No More Applause” was one of the films featured in the Rotterdam Film Festival. In 1995, she produced 'Morning Glory' a Shanghai Film Studio production, directed by Hu Xueyang. Cynthia has acted in several films and TV dramas.
